Land Genealogy

Land genealogy refers to all land searches, whether historical or legal, sometimes both. This research requires a thorough mastery of archival research methods, involving the analysis of various and specialized sources.

I am able to carry out historical research on buildings because all have a history that it is possible to trace, even those for whom one could imagine that there would be no trace in the archives (farms, barns, cabanons, wells, etc.). And yet, with the right research methodology, one can determine the period of construction, the different modifications, the history of successive owners, etc. If necessary, I can work with people with complementary skills (archaeologists, architects, etc.).

In some cases, land genealogy also involves legal research on a building, especially when there are conflicts over the different easements that can damage a building. Then it is necessary to go back to the origin of servitudes that sometimes go back centuries.
